At the end of the day, you have to understand that there is NO set and forget system for cat litter, even in the fancy robot boxes, which are all ill designed and make promises they can not keep. Smaller and simpler is your best bet. The key is regular upkeep, and this box allows me to do that AND have as little contact with the litter as possible. I have to feed my cats (3 of them) 4 to 5 times a day due to dietary issues. Since I'm already in their area during feedings, I turn the box (and dispose of the waste in a trash can with a bag that I take out every other day) at least 2x per day. It allows me to have one box for my 3 cats, and there have been no issues with them sharing it since it is always clean (I do not normally suggest having 3 acts share one box, and I understand most ppl are not home to maintain throughout the day, but once before work and once before bed should be enough.)
I do have to poke a scooper in to dislodge clumps on the sides, but that is to be expected. Tilt it slowly, watch what is actually happening on the inside, make sure you PROPERLY close the latches upon assembly, and pay attention to it daily, and you will love it for its ability to make sifting fast, easy, and hands off.
and they're still using it. Much easier than using a traditional scooper. A bit bulky when it's time to disassemble and wash it. Since I only do this about once a month- it's worth it to me. After all, you have to do the same with any litter box. Works just as described by seller. Roll it over, and back, then discard what's left in the tray. Now that we needed a litter box again, we purchased another Omega (1 to 2 months ago). I'll update review later if there's a need.
